VIOLIN MASTER CLASS WITH KRISTOF BARATI

Famous violinist Kristóf Baráti will hold a master class for the Foundation's scholars on June 5.

On June 5 (Sunday), from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, famous violinist Kristóf Baráti will give master classes to the scholarship holders of the Foundation. The master classes will take place in the large concert hall named after Tatyana Hayrapetyan, at Tchaikovsky Specialized Secondary Music School. The next day, on June 6, he will perform with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, at the head of the artistic director and principal conductor Sergey Smbatyan, in the framework of the opening concert of the 18th Khachaturian International Competition in Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.


Master classes are open to students of musical institutions. Those applicants who didn't pass the scholarship competition can also be present at master classes as passive participants.

At the age of 35, Hungarian violinist Kristóf Baráti was awarded Hungary's Highest Cultural Award, the Kossuth Prize. Kristóf Baráti performed in famous concert halls: such as Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the London's Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Baráti has played with orchestras such as Zurich Tonhalle, Oslo Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, ORF Vienna Radio Symphony, Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, BBC Scottish Symphony, BBC Philharmonic and Hague Philharmonic orchestras. He performs regularly with Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra both in Russia and on tour around the world including in the US and China.

Kristóf Baráti is the Artistic Director of the Kaposvár International Chamber Music Festival.
