New Year’s miracle concert of “Talentum” Constellation

23 December 2022

The New Year's miracle concert of “Talentum” Constellation took place in the “Aram Khachaturian” concert hall.

This concert was a unique opportunity for 17 young talents of the "Talentum" Educational and Development Program offered by the "Music for Future" Cultural Foundation to perform on the same stage with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sergey Smbatyan, President of the "Music for Future" Cultural Foundation.

The concert program featured works of Bach, Sarasate, Tchaikovsky, Baghdasaryan, Harutyunyan, Gershwin, Mangani, Grieg, Beethoven, Khachaturian and Rachmaninoff.

The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra often works with young musicians, but according to Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestra Sergey Smbatyan, this is an unprecedented concert, during which children also play on stage with the Orchestra.

"It is very important for a young musician to perform with an orchestra, and today they had that opportunity. Such motivation to perform on the big stage with the Symphony Orchestra is essential for children and at the same time a great responsibility. I remember myself at that age and it was one of the most responsible moments for me to perform with an orchestra. It was the greatest achievement and experience. I think this concert can bring positive changes in their professional life," said Sergey Smbatyan.

Referring to the activities of the "Music for Future" Foundation established two years ago, he mentioned that the Foundation's mission is to teach young talented musicians everything a professional musician should know, and this concert is one of the most important points. "Today we have talented young musicians, and the Foundation prepares them for tomorrow's musical life, enriching talent with knowledge, which is very important in the 21st century. When you see talented young musicians, you try to do everything possible for them, to create the necessary environment and atmosphere for their further professional development."

Smbatyan expressed confidence that Armenia has its own place in the field of classical music, and these young talented musicians will have their say on international stages in the future. "The achievements of these young people are still to come, and this is the first gala-concert of the foundation's scholars with the symphony orchestra. It is not excluded that the gala-concert of the scholars can be organized annually."
