On July 29, the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall hosted a memorable performance by the “Yerevan” Youth Orchestra — filled with the powerful energy of youth and the highest level of classical music performance. The concert was conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, with world-renowned trumpeter Sergei Nakariakov as the soloist, celebrated as one of the brightest musicians of his generation.

Among the orchestra’s performers were also young scholarship recipients of the Music for Future Foundation — cellists Narek Arakelyan and Vahe Danielyan, as well as French horn players Tigran Harutyunyan and Martin Arshakyan.

The evening’s program featured Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Alexander Harutyunian’s Trumpet Concerto in A-flat major, and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World.”

For the young musicians, performing in the orchestra was at once a great honor, a responsibility, and an important opportunity for growth. This concert also served as a prelude to the orchestra’s upcoming tour in Germany, where the “Yerevan” Youth Orchestra will take the stage of the world-famous Konzerthaus Berlin, representing Armenian and world musical art on an international stage.

For the Music for Future Foundation, this was yet another reason to take pride in its young scholarship recipients, who are already finding their place in the international music scene.

The orchestra was established and is fully supported by Yerevan Municipality. The concert was organized by Yerevan Municipality and the “Aram Khachaturian” Cultural Foundation.
