
Trained at the Maîtrise de Paris (violin, piano, and voice), Tristan ARAGAU began studying the French horn at the age of 12.
At 17, he was awarded the First Prize in Chamber Music by the City of Paris and entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of André CAZALET. He graduated with a First Prize unanimously awarded and was appointed one year later as Principal Horn (co-soloist) of the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France.
His solo career has led him to be invited as Principal Horn with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre National de France, the Paris Opera, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, and the Orchestre de Paris. He has also worked with some of the world’s leading conductors, including Pierre Boulez, Kurt Masur, Georges Prêtre, Philippe Jordan, Daniel Harding, and Klaus Mäkelä.
A horn professor for the City of Paris (13th arrondissement) and at the CRR of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, he is actively involved in various festivals and academies, as well as with the French Horn Association (Association Française du Cor).
