
Denis Severin is a professor of cello at Geneva-Neuchâtel University of Music and Bern University of Arts. He is artistic director of «LISA» (Langenthal International String Academy.
A winner of Echo Klassik Prize 2015, Grammy Awards 2007, International Classical Music Awards 2018, laureate of several international competitions.
He performs as a soloist and a chamber musician in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world and collaborates with some of the most distinguished ensembles and musicians.
He is a frequent guest artist and professor at classical music festivals like Luzern Festival, Rutesheim Cello Academy, CellEast Festival et al. Jury member for a number of music competitions, Artistic Director of ArtCello Festival and «Kammerkonzerte Rheinfelden» (Germany) concert series, President of Association “Art Without Borders Basel”.
Denis Severin graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (prof. D.Miller). Continued education at the Geneva University of Music (prof.
D.Grossgurin), Music Academy of Basel (prof. T.Demenga), Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris (prof. G.Hoffman), Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (prof. C.Coin).
He also attended master classes of such professors as Janos Starker, Anner Bylsma, Natalia Gutman, Antonio Meneses, Truls Mork and Rheinhard Latzko.
