"AND THIS IS ME"- Davit Babayan

My instrument has taught me that “one more time” can last an entire hour. Even the smallest progress begins with daily work.
Music is a world where words are no longer necessary for me. Sometimes, it can express what I find difficult to say myself.
When I am alone, I like to put my thoughts in order and listen to new music. Sometimes, the best ideas are born in silence.
When I play, I try to be sincere. I believe the audience can quickly sense whether you are simply playing or truly living through the music. The same piece never sounds the same to me twice.
I believe talent is a good starting point, but hard work wins the long race.
When I am on stage, I understand why I dedicate so much time to rehearsals. Those few minutes make all the hard work worthwhile.
I feel happy when I can play exactly as I imagined. In those moments, I realize that every rehearsal had a purpose.
Few people know, but sometimes I hum melodies in my head even while walking. I hope I don’t look too strange doing it.
Being Armenian, for me, means carrying a great responsibility. I am happy when I can represent my country on international stages.
What matters most in life is not always winning, but becoming a little better every day. Those small steps are what lead to great achievements.
I am inspired when I realize that today I managed to do something that I couldn’t quite manage yesterday. Those small victories give me the greatest strength.
I get emotional when I hear truly sincere performances. They remind me why I chose the path of music.
Being a musician means that your violin is always with you, no matter where the road takes you.
I have realized that my toughest competitor is the person I was yesterday. Competing with that version of myself never ends.
What gives me strength is knowing that there is always a new height to reach. That is what makes me pick up my violin and start again every day.
I feel proud when I walk off stage feeling that the music spoke better than I ever could.
In three words, I am determined, patient, and dedicated.
I feel happy when my teacher says, “That was good”… and doesn’t add “but.”
Ten years from now, I hope I will be able to say that most of my dreams have come true.
Yerevan, for me, is a city I love for its warmth and for the feeling that my roots are here. My first musical steps began in this city, which is why it will always hold a special place in my heart.
My motto is: “A little better every day than yesterday.” Great achievements begin with small steps.
I dream of giving performances that will remain in people’s memories for a long time.
