Competition to Participate in Master Classes Within Malta International Festival

General Provisions


Music for Future Cultural Foundation announces a competition for Armenian pianists without age restrictions. Winners of the competition will have the opportunity to participate in the master classes of the Malta Classical Music Academy (MCMA) of the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC). Master classes will be held from May 3-10, 2020.

In the framework of master classes talented pianists will have an opportunity to learn from the leading musicians of our time, improve their musical skills and gain invaluable knowledge.

The master classes will be held by famous pianists Dmitry Alexeev (UK), Yuri Didenko (Russia), Pablo Galdo (Spain), Grigory Gruzman (Germany), Vera Kameneva

(Russia), Mikhail Khokhlov (Russia), Giuliano Mazzoccante (Italy), Ángel Sanzo (Spain) and Arkadi Zenzipér (Germany).



Support


After reviewing pianists' applications and auditions it is anticipated to select 10 winners.

Support provided to the winners will include the cost of flight tickets, hotel (breakfast included), transfers from and to the airport outside Armenia, cost of the master classes and invitation to the Malta International Music Festival 2020 concerts. Hotel rooms are for 2-3 persons.

If the winner is minor and there is an accompanying person, support provided to the accompanying person will include only the cost of hotel (breakfast included), transfers from and to the airport outside Armenia, his/her presence at the master classes as a free listener, and invitation to the Malta International Music Festival 2020 concerts.

Other non-listed expenses are covered by the winners themselves (e. g visa, food (except breakfast), cost of the flight tickets of the accompanying person, etc.). Winners will not be given visa support.

A contract will be concluded with the winners of the competition (in case of being minor - his/her parent/guardian) and invitation to participate in master classes will be given to them. After this it is necessary to ensure having Schengen visa in passport until April 6 of this year. In case of refusing to get support from the foundation and informing about that after April 10 of this year, it is necessary to reimburse the expenses incurred by the foundation.



Requirements for and Conditions of Participating in Competition


In order to participate in competition it is necessary to be a citizen of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and live in the RA. Knowledge of English is mandatory.

To participate in competition it is required to fill in an application form and submit the following documents.


  • Application form filled in by the applicant (in case of being minor - by the applicant’s parent or guardian).
  • Copy of the applicant's passport (which you will use to fly abroad). In case of having an accompanying person – his/her copy of passport as well.
  • Reference-recommendation from the musical institution of the applicant.
  • Certificate about the applicant’s place of residence.




Auditions


Auditions and selection of applicants will be in March. During the auditions the applicant should present a free program duration of which should not exceed 40 minutes. The program should be performed by heart.

As a result of the auditions, decision to be made by the Jury is indisputable (cannot be appealed).


The deadline for submitting applications and other necessary documents is March 1, 2020.


By filling in the application form and submitting the necessary documents you assure that you agree to the terms of the competition for participating in master classes of Malta Classical Music Academy.
