26 April 2022

The "Music for Future" Cultural Foundation, highlighting the comprehensive cultural development of its young scholars, the importance of their understanding of Armenian history, scientific and literary heritage, initiated the scholars' visits to museums.

The 1-month program, which started with a visit to the Komitas Museum-Institute, ended in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin - the spiritual heart of all Armenians. Here, the Foundation's scholarship holders were given a unique opportunity to be hosted at the Exhibition Hall of Veharan, which opens its doors to visitors in very rare occasions. The scholarship holders also visited the Treasury of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, as well as the Museum of Ruben Sevak, Armenian novelist, doctor, martyr of the Genocide.

Within the framework of the program initiated by the Foundation, the scholars visited the Museum of painter-sculptor Yervand Kochar, the House-Museum of the great composer Alexander Spendiaryan - the founder of Armenian classical symphonic music, the House-Museum of the great painter of the 20th century Martiros Saryan, the Yerevan Contemporary Art Museum, the House-Museum of Lusine Zakaryan, singer, performer of Komitas and Armenian spiritual songs, the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts - Matenadaran, Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art, Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve, the Museum of film director, screenwriter and artist Sergey Parajanov, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and the Komitas Museum-Institute.

"Visiting museums has been a common culture in our family since my childhood. But this time the impressions were really different. I am very impressed by the visit to the Lusine Zakaryan House-Museum, as I listen to and love her songs very much. It is an indescribable pleasure to visit the Komitas Museum-Institute. I liked more Martiros Saryan’s paintings and colors and got to know him more deeply. All our visits to museums were informative, interesting, valuable, and they touched my soul. I would especially like to mention the Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin: I was so much impressed with the collection here. I learned that it is the first official museum of the Republic of Armenia," M4FF scholar, flutist Victorya Petrosyan shared her impressions.

"It has already become a tradition that, on the initiative of the Foundation, we visit many museums in Armenia to get to know Armenian history, the life and works of great Armenian writers, composers, artists better," said M4FF scholar, cellist Alex Grigoryan. "Our visits to museums had a great influence on me. During this month, we learned and recalled a lot of interesting and important things, learned about the lives of famous people, got acquainted with important periods of the Armenian history, different types of art, recalled our origins," said scholar, violinist Ovsanna Harutyunyan. "Every museum is an inspiration and a unique experience. There are museums that you can visit endlessly and discover something new every time," added scholar, pianist Svetlana Hakobyan.

Speaking about the initiative, Anna Ter-Hovakimyan, Director of the Music for Future Cultural Foundation, noted that educational visits to cultural centers are part of the Foundation's educational program and they will be long-lasting. "A musician should be comprehensively developed, this is the imperative of the time, and if we speak about an Armenian musician, he is the bearer of the Armenian national values, and in the future he is also our country’s cultural ambassador throughout the whole world. These visits are another occasion to appreciate our cultural and spiritual values. Our young talents should know well who Armenians are, where they come from and what mission they have on their shoulders," said Anna Ter-Hovakimyan, adding that within the framework of the program, scholarship holders have visited more than a dozen museums, and this is not the end yet.
