Scholar Samvel Davtyan will perform as part of the orchestra abroad

"Music for Future" scholarship holder, a young trombonist Samvel Davtyan, will perform as part of the orchestra in the framework of the #CAMPUS22 transatlantic orchestra program.

As a result of a competition, "Music for Future" scholarship holder, a young trombonist Samvel Davtyan was selected to participate and perform as part of the orchestra in the #CAMPUS22 transatlantic orchestra program which will take place in Berlin and Hamburg this summer.


The #CAMPUS22 transatlantic orchestra project, composed of members of the Balthasar Neumann Choir and Ensemble and young musicians from all over Europe and from Cuba, is organized by Thomas Hengelbrock and his Balthasar Neumann Ensembles and will be held on July 12-23 of this year in Berlin. In the framework of the program the concerts will take place on July 21 and 22 in Hamburg.


The program is designed for students up to 28 years old who have ensemble and orchestral experience and are interested in international projects, aimed at promoting transatlantic cultural exchange, offering a variety of educational and training opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.


#CAMPUS22 transatlantic orchestra will focus on the orchestral programs. The participants of the program will also have the opportunity to participate in individual and chamber music lessons, workshops about contemporary Cuban music culture (dance, rhythm, traditional music styles, improvisation for strings and winds), as well as on historical performance practices.


Samvel Davtyan is a first-year student at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, where he studies in the class of Pargev Aghabekyan. He is also a student of the "YerazArt" program, teacher: Matias Varela.
